Guard House

This is where school guards were stationed. Records say that inside the building were the “three weapons,” namely, sasumata spear fork, tsukubo push pole, and sodegarami sleeve entangler for capturing suspected criminals.
The main gate is in the kabukimon style and locals also call this “Kuromon (Black Gate)” for its blackish color. Back in the Edo period, guards stood in front of this gate to watch those who came and went.
